Papierdoll Magazine Prepares Brides to Be for their Big Day
Papierdoll announces the release of their May 2007 online bridal issue consisting of articles, photo features and interviews for the upcoming bridal season.
New York, NY (PRWEB) May 11, 2007 -- The May issue of Papierdoll magazine hit online this week with a view into the ever important June, July 2007 wedding seasons. With photo features that highlight bridal trends and articles on creating looks for the bridal season, Papierdoll talked to various experts to find the trends.
The primary photographic feature entitled Bridal Bliss was shot by Finnish/Hungarian photographer Reka Nyari. Using emerging designers Edgardo Bonilla, Jenny Yoo, and others, stylist Johanna Laracuente states, "when we were coming up with concepts for "Bridal Bliss," we wanted to give women an introduction to designers who may not have necessarily been on their radar and present an alternative to the names you usually hear bandied about in traditional bridal and fashion magazines."
To further the bridal theme, the staff of the online magazine put together a variety of features including a bridal beauty article on makeup, colors and perfume for the wedding day. The beauty feature includes a self-test on one of the writers, an interview with renowned bridal headpiece designer LeahC, who also contributes her headpieces for another photo feature entitled "Hats Off," in which stylist Laracuente highlights various couture headpieces for the season. Other features include a comprehensive look at designer approaches for this year's bridal season, which begins in April and runs through the end of September.
Editor-in-Chief Michelle Bell learned from the experience of putting together a full-fledged wedding for the issue.
"When we initially set out to do this issue we wanted to look at the whole bridal process from getting engaged to the honeymoon. We realized that this is a daunting process that could go wrong in so many ways, so we set out to create an issue that really addresses as many situations as possible so that it becomes less stressful and more pleasant for the bride."
Makeup artist Yisell Santos, who created the bridal makeup looks for the "Bridal Bliss" feature (she's getting married in June!) reveals that, "when I put together looks for 'Bridal Bliss' I thought, I'm getting married soon, and I want looks that reflect the modern woman. She's not necessarily dainty, prim, and reserved anymore. She's a professional, she's a student, she may already be a mother, she's juggling a lot and she may not fit one simple mold. The makeup has to reflect this modern woman and provide a sort of edge not seen before in traditional print fashion and bridal magazines."
