Capitol Hill Outreach, the Center for Christian Statesmanship, Reopens for Ministry as Outreach of Evangelism Explosion International

Coral Ridge Ministries and Evangelism Explosion International announced today that CRM's former Washington, D.C. outreach, the D. James Kennedy Center for Christian Statesmanship, will resume ministry on Capitol Hill, effective today, as an outreach of Evangelism Explosion International.

Fort Lauderdale, FL (PRWEB) May 11, 2007 -- Coral Ridge Ministries and Evangelism Explosion International announced today that CRM's former Washington, D.C. outreach, the D. James Kennedy Center for Christian Statesmanship, will resume ministry on Capitol Hill, effective today, as an outreach of Evangelism Explosion International.

Fisher, Executive Vice President of Coral Ridge Ministries, the broadcast outreach of Dr. D. James Kennedy.

Coral Ridge Ministries and Evangelism Explosion were both founded by Dr. D. James Kennedy. The two organizations have recently worked together to promote greater awareness, understanding, and acceptance of the Christian message that Jesus is God and offers Heaven to those who trust in Him.

Fisher said that the Board of Coral Ridge Ministries blesses and approves the new relationship between the Center and Evangelism Explosion. "Long before Coral Ridge Ministries closed the Center on April 27 of this year we recognized that the purpose and mission of the original Center was a better organizational and mission fit with Evangelism Explosion," he said.

Coral Ridge Ministries closed the Center, founded in 1995, because its purpose as an interpersonal evangelism and discipleship outreach is not consistent with the core mission of Coral Ridge Ministries, which is to create and deliver Christian media content.

Evangelism Explosion International, founded by Dr. Kennedy in 1962, is the world's most widely used evangelism equipping ministry. It has hired George Roller, the Executive Director of the Center under Coral Ridge Ministries, to serve once more in the same capacity under Evangelism Explosion.

James Kennedy Center for Christian Statesmanship has a long-established reputation for excellence in its outreach activities, and an extensive network of relationships on Capitol Hill," said Rev. John B. Sorensen, Executive Vice President of Evangelism Explosion International. "George adds a top-flight level of leadership to this organization. I'm glad to have him aboard."

Sorensen explained that the main focus of the Center under Evangelism Explosion will be to continue the outreach done by Coral Ridge Ministries, while also including volunteers from local EE ministries. These ongoing outreach activities will include:

Quarterly weekend retreats where Hill staffers learn to understand and share the Gospel.

Monthly "Politics and Principle" luncheons at which a member of Congress discusses his or her Christian faith experience.

Weekly Bible studies.

Ministry to the over 10,000 interns that come to Washington D.C. each summer.
