Mitt Romney Now Leading in the Latest Michigan Polls
In the past week, Mitt Romney took the lead in New Hampshire but now has a lead in the latest Michigan poll.
(PRWEB) May 14, 2007 -- American Research Group ran a poll of 600 likely Republican primary voters from May 4-7, 2007, in the state of Michigan.
Mitt Romney now is in the lead with 24% of the vote. McCain has 22% and Giuliani has 19%. Romney's support has tripled since late February. McCain and Giuliani have each lost support, 13% and 11% respectively.
But the lost support can be misleading because for the first time, actor Fred Thompson has been included in the polls. He got 8% of the support in the Michigan poll and some of that support was taken from the top tier candidates because the unsure vote has remained stable.
This is just one of the many good news for the Romney campaign that all started with his successful campaign fundraising. He was then the featured candidate on YouTube.com and appeared on the Jay Leno show. He won the first GOP debate according to Newsmax's conservative followers. After the debate, he took the lead in the latest SurveyUSA.com's New Hampshire poll.
According to David Terr of PresidentPolls2008.com, "Romney's support may be a little bit inflated right now because voters are now getting to learn about him and interest in his campaign is peaking. But many conservative voters are looking for a more conservative politician to support over Giuliani and McCain and Romney resonates very well with those voters. We do not expect his support to die down."
