Beaumont, TX (PRWEB) May 16, 2007 -- Mike Fuljenz, the president of Universal Coin & Bullion, was honored by Lamar University of Texas for his philanthropy and the many services he rendered to the campus. His company, Universal Coin and Bullion has been Lamar's athletic department largest corporate contributor.
Fuljenz attributes his belief in giving back to the community to the values and teaching of his parents.
"My mother and grandmother both taught for 30 years, so I grew up in a family that supported education and teaching. My father was really involved with different charitable programs and volunteer work for youth in need. You kind of model your father," Fuljenz stated.
This gesture of appreciation from Lamar University was an emotional heart felt moment for Mr. Fuljenz who at one time had little money and could never have envisioned his present position enabling him to help change the life of so many as his support for Lamar University has already done.
Fuljenz, one of America's foremost rare coin experts has always had an affinity for the academic community. Himself a prior teacher and principal left him missing the excitement and fulfillment of teaching and seeing students mature into adulthood. His connection with Lamar University helped fill that void and gave him the chance to again influence and instill good habits and positive life values to the students his services touched. Fuljenz will have more reasons to support Lamar University in the fall when his two children attend the campus.
Lamar's tribute to Mike Fuljenz and his company Universal Coin & Bullion is featured on the University's website. You can read the entire article at www.lamar.edu/newsevents/news/207_5386.htm, it contains numerous quotes from Mr. Fuljenz and paints a portrait of a man, who is a dedicated father, businessman and all around asset to the Golden Triangle Community.
