Salt Lake City, UT (PRWEB) May 24, 2007 -- The Wasatch Front's own piano man, Kevin Burdick, has donated three of his albums to the new digital download Change the World Music, which allows the public through Internet access to acquire their favorite tunes for a monetary donation to charity. Download site due to launch June 1, 2007.
"I am a 34-year-old rock pianist from Salt Lake City, who writes music inspired by real people that I've known in my life," Burdick said. "My friends will tell you that I am 'deeply wounded, genuinely concerned, and stubbornly optimistic' and I believe that my music reflects that, and what better way to give back in some small way from what I've been given than to share my music to help those in need."
Burdick has been referred to musically as "the love child of Ben Folds and Elton John," for his mastery of the ebony and ivory keys and his unequivocal talent of writing compelling lyrics that makes any listener's heart sing. He is an independent artist on his way from becoming the Beehive State's best kept secret to a household name across America.
"He is sure to be a favorite download on Change the World Music's Website, www.changetheworldmusic.org," said Tracy Archuleta, artists relations for the online 501©3 non-profit organization and community awareness project. "He is the people's musician, meaning that he really connects to people on so many levels that it's as if he is giving them a personal concert."
"Through existing technology and by partnering with artists at all levels, we will provide a place where people can buy music downloads not found anywhere else, including live performances, b-sides, acoustic versions, demos, whatever the artist -- famous or independent -- wants to provide," said Steve Walker, founder of Change the World Music.
Burdick is enthusiastic about his connection to the charitable organization that will additionally offer online auctions of autographed memorabilia, front-row tickets to the biggest shows of the year, one-of-a-kind opportunities, like dinner with a particular artist or guitar lessons from a legend. Ring-tones and video downloads will be accessible, too.
"Music keeps us connected, it is a bonding force like no other and always speaks a universal voice of language," said Tracy. "It's exciting to be a part of a music community coming together to help those in need and make the world a better place for all of us to live."
Tracy added, "Kevin's music definitely speaks to people and Change the World Music is excited to have him involved and looks forward to sharing his talent around the globe, which is sure to bring much needed funds where it will be most beneficial."
