Two B. Braun experts to lead "Manufacturing for Innovation" seminar at MD&M East

Topics to be covered include "Transitioning to Rigorous Design and Process Controls" presented by John Grimm, U.S. director of device research and development and OEM engineering for B. Braun.

Bethlehem, Pa. (PRWEB) June 4, 2007 -- Tom Black, vice president of OEM sales and marketing at B. Braun Medical Inc. (www.bbraunoem.com), will serve as chair of "Manufacturing for Innovation" conference, June 12, 9 a.m.-4 p.m., at Medical Design and Manufacturing East at the Jacob K. Javits Center, New York. The five-part session will focus on streamlining and improving the OEM manufacturing process and fostering innovation in a highly regulated industry.

Black has over two decades of experience in the OEM industry with B. Braun. He is responsible for overseeing the sales and promotion of the B. Braun OEM Division's products and services. His expert commentary is sought regularly by industry publications and he sits on the advisory board for Medical Product Outsourcing magazine. As chair for the seminar, Black worked with Canon Communications choosing topics and speakers.

"Transitioning to Rigorous Design and Process Controls" will be presented by John Grimm, U.S. director of device research and development and OEM engineering for B. Braun. The program will focus on product lifecycle from the "eureka (idea) moment" to finished product. Best practices, resources and mechanics for accomplishing these steps will be explored.

Grimm has over two decades of OEM and engineering experience. At B. Braun he is responsible for product innovation and design and development for domestic products. He has been instrumental in developing the B. Braun U.S. Quality system, specifically in writing policies for design controls and risk-based development of products.
