Vivid Identities Shine in Online Film Magazine Featuring Black Women

More than just another entertainment magazine, VIVID.ID will focus on articles about today's, yesterday's and tomorrow's Black women filmmakers and actresses. Content includes insightful articles on classic films, emerging filmmakers, news and events.

San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) June 4, 2007 -- Celebrating Black women filmmakers and Black women in the film industry, VIVID.ID is the International Black Women's Film Festival's ("IBWFF") debut online publication. More than just another entertainment magazine, VIVID.ID will focuses on articles about today's, yesterday's and tomorrow's Black women filmmakers and actresses. Content includes insightful articles on classic films, emerging filmmakers, news and events.

"My expectations are high for what kind of content goes into the magazine," says VIVID.ID editor-in-chief Adrienne Anderson. "I want readers to understand the complexities of being a Black woman in the film industry and what a powerful statement it is for Black women to take control of their images in film, television and the media. This is the same message of the International Black Women's Film Festival."

The first issue features such writers as Jasmine Watts, entertainment writer Saba Ink and CBC Literary Prize winner Lawrence Russell, who is also a playwright and was a Professor of Writing in the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Victoria for 30 years.

Along with exceptional articles, VIVID.ID features entertainment news and resources for those established in the film business and those just starting out.

The IBWFF wants to keep the magazine free and accessible to the public. It's freely distributed to the public through a Creative Commons License (http://www.creativecommons.org), and is available through the IBWFF site at: www.ibwff.com. Publications available quarterly.
