DeLithe Nutraceutical Inc., Announces New Study of Improving Ejaculatory Control and Sexual Satisfaction

Premature ejaculation (PE) is the most common sexual complaint for men and yet they are not willing to admit that they have a problem making it difficult to seek treatment. A new study evaluated the effects of a new hyperforin formulation on the time to ejaculation in men, as well as satisfaction with sexual activity. Fourteen of 16 men (87.5%) reported a significant increase in sexual intercourse duration and both the man and women reported a significant increase in sexual satisfaction with hyperforin formulation.

Pittsburgh, PA (PRWEB) June 15, 2007 -- Approximately one third of sexually active men in the United States report that they have premature ejaculation (PE); this is twice the occurrence of erectile dysfunction (ED). Currently, healthcare practitioners have few treatment options for most men with PE. A new study suggests that premature ejaculation (PE), the most common male sexual dysfunction, can be effectively treated with a natural supplement, hypericum perforatum. This natural supplement, which can be used on-demand and is recognized for improving sexual performance, could replace the undesirable use of desensitizing creams or the practice of using two condoms at once to reduce sensation.

Hypericum perforatum, a natural supplement, has demonstrated pharmacologically to inhibit serotonin reuptake and delay ejaculation in a research model of PE similar to action of dapoxetine, a drug pending review at the FDA. This study carried out be Drs. Cannon and Kaufman (The Internet Journal of Nutrition and Wellness, 3(2), 2007) evaluated the effects of a specific hypericum perforatum extract formulation on the time to ejaculation in men, as well as satisfaction with sexual activity.

One of the most interesting findings of this study is that the hyperforin extract can increase the sexual intercourse time for men with baseline IELT of less than 2 minutes, but also for men who would fall into the normal range of sexual intercourse duration.
"Sixteen men, without erectile dysfunction, who expressed a desire for longer sexual intercourse, were treated with the formulation 30 minutes prior to sexual activity," said Dr. Tracy Cannon, a female urologist in Dallas, TX. Dr. Cannon is a well-known relationship expert who has appeared in eHarmoney.com and The Today Show. "Partners were asked to measure intra-vaginal ejaculatory latency time (IELT) using a stopwatch as well as complete a sexual function questionnaire both pre and post treatment."

The men, who had an average age of 35 years old, reported an overall significant increase in sexual intercourse duration when using the hyperforin extract. Fourteen of 16 men (87.5%) reported a significant increase in average IELT times from 246 to 331 seconds in subjects taking the hyperforin extract. The increase was seen in all of the men regardless if they had a problem with PE or PE was not considered an issue. Dr Cannon said that "There was also a significant increase in male satisfaction scores from 3.8 to 4.3; female satisfaction scores also showed a significant increase from 4.9 to 5.2." No adverse effects on erectile function or orgasm were reported.

Dr. Jonathan Kaufman, President of DeLithe Natural Products Inc. in Pittsburgh, PA. noted "The effect appears similar to the off-label chronic use of selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors such as Prosac, yet the hyperforin formulation can be used on-demand."

Dr. Frank Costa, a urologist and noted expert on Men's Health in Pittsburgh noted that "One of the most interesting findings of this study is that the hyperforin extract can increase the sexual intercourse time for men with baseline IELT of less than 2 minutes, but also for men who would fall into the normal range of sexual intercourse duration."
