Multi-Unit General Automotive Franchisee to Open 4 New Salt Lake City Area AAMCO Centers

Multi-unit AAMCO development deal for general automotive franchise veteran.

Salt Lake City, UT (PRWEB) June 9, 2007 -- It was announced today that Matthew J. Moran, a multi-unit automotive developer with seven nationally franchised automotive aftermarket locations in Salt Lake City, has selected AAMCO Transmissions Inc. for a four unit expansion deal in the same market.

The multi-year plan calls for Moran to open a minimum of four new AAMCO centers throughout the greater Salt Lake City area. The other area under consideration for development includes Ogden, Utah.

Mr. Moran selected AAMCO because "it's one of the largest and most recognized brands in the automotive aftermarket with a trusted name, longevity and a stellar reputation". Additionally, Moran felt that the AAMCO business model fit well with his other automotive franchise. "I wanted the ability to integrate vertically, and co-develop future locations for these two prominent national tenants who can co-exist and co-market together, without stepping on each others toes."

Originally from Chicago, Moran moved to Salt Lake City more than 10 years ago. "I moved here for the quality of life," said Moran. He continued, "I can't think of a better place to raise a family or own a business". Moran feels that the Salt Lake community is specifically conducive to the automotive business given its young demographic, growing population, increasing household income and severe driving conditions. "Plus," Moran continued, "we have more cars per household in SLC than any other city in the county, that's a lot of potential customers."

Todd Leff, president and chief executive officer of AAMCO Transmissions added "We're very excited about Matt becoming a new franchisee. Already owning seven franchise locations in the automotive aftermarket industry, he obviously has the track record and experience to be a successful multi-unit AAMCO franchisee." Leff continued, "With an aggressive plan for upwards of four new centers in two years, Matt has chosen to make a significant investment in AAMCO to develop along side his already successful business, we couldn't be more pleased."
