Free Picture-taking Advice at Adorama's Resource Center

Two-part editorial series geared towards snap-shooters and intermediate photographers shows how to shoot flattering people pictures in both sun and shade

New York, NY (PRWEB) June 15, 2007 -- Summer is the season when the most outdoor people pictures are taken. Adorama Camera's Adorama Imaging Resource Center (AIRC) has just published a two-part editorial series on outdoor portrait photography -- Picture-Taking Techniques: Fun in the Sun (http://www.adorama.com/catalog.tpl?article=060407&op=academy_new) and Made in the Shade (http://www.adorama.com/catalog.tpl?article=061107&op=academy_new).

In the series, AIRC editor Mason Resnick shows photographers how to get flattering photos in difficult light (direct sunlight), what kind of light to avoid, and how to get great shots in open shade and on cloudy days. There is also advice about composition and what kind of equipment is best for portraits.

"The great thing about people pictures is that if you know what you're doing, any camera is ideal for photographing people," notes Resnick. "Even the lowliest compact digital camera is capable of shooting flattering portraits."

The outdoor portrait series is part of a growing number of picture-taking technique articles on the AIRC, and is one of nearly 300 articles on photography published by Adorama. Other recent articles include: "Photographing Baby's First Year," and "Talkin' Baseball Photography."

Online photo magazine at a retail site --
AIRC - Adorama Imaging Resource Center is quickly becoming a choice destination for photographers at all levels of experience who want to improve their picture-taking and image-editing skills. AIRC has over 250 how-to photography articles, buying guides and picture-selling advice, as well as daily breaking news about the photography industry, written by a team of top photography experts.

Why would Adorama, a well-respected New York-based camera retailer, publish what is essentially an online photo magazine? Resnick says, "We believe the more information and knowledge we can provide, the more people will trust Adorama both as a reliable information source and as a place where they can feel comfortable buying their photographic gear."
