AIRC Publishes a Consumer Guide to the Top Cameras for the Summer of 2007

Adorama Imaging Resource Center presents an unbiased buying guide to the best digital cameras available now

New York, NY (PRWEB) June 25, 2007 -- Summer vacation, trips to the beach, camping, cookouts: The warmest time of year is also the most alluring for snapshooters and hobbyists. The latest generation of digital cameras offers more features for less money than ever before. Adorama Camera has just posted its "Summer 2007 Camera Buying Guide" (http://web1.adorama.com/catalog.tpl?op=academy&article=020607) on its unique online photo magazine, the AIRC (Adorama Imaging Resource Center).

"The purpose of the guide is to help consumers efficiently determine which camera is right for their needs," says author Mason Resnick. "With literally hundreds of cameras to choose from, it's easy to get lost while trying to make a decision. We've cut that list down to the 30 best models, and divided them up so that readers can find the kind of camera that best fits their needs."

With literally hundreds of cameras to choose from, it's easy to get lost while trying to make a decision. We've cut that list down to the 30 best models, and divided them up so that readers can find the kind of camera that best fits their needs.
The guide is divided into specific camera categories: Starter digital SLRs, budget-priced compact cameras that cost under $200, EVF (electronic viewfinder cameras), full featured "Wow" cameras, and high-design "fashion" cameras. There is even a guide to the best film cameras.

"In putting this guide together, I was amazed at how much camera you can get for under $200," notes Resnick. "And for a bit more, you can get cameras with features nobody even dreamed about a few years ago." For example, some new-generation cameras have built-in face-detection technology, which automatically finds faces in a scene and chooses the optimal focus and exposure settings. Most cameras now also have anti-shake technology, which will help users get sharper pictures, says Resnick.

The Summer 2007 Camera Buying Guide is part of the AIRC (Adorama Imaging Resource Center), Adorama's ongoing effort to help engage the photographic community through education.

Online photo magazine at a retail site?

AIRC - Adorama Imaging Resource Center is quickly becoming a choice destination for photographers at all levels of experience who want to improve their picture-taking and image-editing skills. AIRC has over 250 how-to photography articles, buying guides, and picture-selling advice, as well as daily breaking news about the photography industry, written by a team of top photography experts.

Why would Adorama, a well-respected New York-based camera retailer, publish what is essentially an online photo magazine? Resnick says, "we believe the more information and knowledge we can provide, the more people will trust Adorama both as a reliable information source and as a place where they can feel comfortable buying their photographic gear."
