Fine Art Photographer Charlie Morey Signs with The Flavia Company
Fine art photographer Charlie Morey has signed a licensing contract with The Flavia Company, a fine-art publishing/licensing company in Santa Barbara, California for several of his portfolios.
"We are thrilled to have Charlie join our family of fine artists," says Karen Cahill, President of The Flavia Company. "His incredible selection of subject matter combined with his phenomenal artistry provides us with a beautiful body of work that compliments and enhances our existing portfolio."
Studio City, CA (PRWEB) June 27, 2007 -- Fine art photographer Charlie Morey has signed a licensing contract with The Flavia Company of Santa Barbara, California for several of his portfolios. Among the images are collections called "A Face Like Yours..." where Morey presents portraits of exotic animals from the Los Angeles Zoo in elegant monochrome, "Just Flowers", a colorful collection of horticultural reproductions, and "Yosemite AiR", a B&W gallery of moody nature images captured during the photographer's Yosemite Renaissance Artist-in-Residence program in 2005. Yosemite Renaissance is a non-profit organization that sponsors selected artists for a full month to work at Yosemite National Park.
In addition to the three subject-specific portfolios, Morey also submitted a selection he calls "Potpourri: Rustic, Still Life, Distressed, Urban" which contains images that span his photographic career from the late 1960s to present day. Images in that compilation range from rustic recollections from his childhood in Maine to haunting images from old world France, to contemporary urban work from his Los Angeles area home.
Several of the portfolios are highlighted on Morey's website, www.charliemorey.com.
"I can't express how much I appreciate the opportunity to work with The Flavia Company," Morey says. "I've been working with Flavia Weedn's son Rick at his company, ArteHouse.com, where he licenses a dozen of my motocross racing images from the 1970s, the formative years when the sport first came to America from Europe. To broaden that interest into my fine art photography expands the scope of my association with the Weedns and The Flavia Company, hopefully providing a wonderful opportunity for all of us."
"We are thrilled to have Charlie join our family of fine artists," says Karen Cahill, President of The Flavia Company. "His incredible selection of subject matter combined with his phenomenal artistry provides us with a beautiful body of work that compliments and enhances our existing portfolio."
Four decades of experience, rich in traditional photography, photojournalism, journalism, creative writing, graphic design and computer graphics have prepared digital artist Charlie Morey for his current endeavor, producing fine art prints based on computer-enhanced digital photographs. Morey's photography experience began in the late 1960s with a second-hand 35mm Minolta viewfinder camera purchased at a pawn shop in Bangor, Maine. Morey bought his first digital camera, a floppy-disk Sony Mavica with a resolution of less than one megapixel, in 1999. Today, he uses a Nikon D200 with a selection of Nikkor and Sigma lenses to support his commitment to the joy and business of creative photography.
