FM Odyssey -- Save Internet Radio

FM Odyssey -- Save Internet Radio -- Interview with Jason Stoddard, Director of Broadcast Sales at Live 365.com, regarding the increased royalty rates for music on internet radio scheduled to take effect on July 15th. Stoddard urges support of the Internet Radio Equality Act now before Congress.

(PRWEB) July 2, 2007 -- Fred Migliore, producer of FM Odyssey, interviews Jason Stoddard, Director of Broadcast Sales at Live 365.com, on the effects of the increase of royalty rates on music being played on internet radio. The dramatic increase (150%) is scheduled to take effect on July 15, 2007.

Stoddard, along with others in the online media industry, urges the support of the proposed Internet Radio Equality Act now in front of Congress (H.R. 2060 and S. 1353). He, and other supporters of the proposed legislation, believe that without its passage, the increased rates will have a direct effect on both listeners and small web casters.

Because of the increase in royalty rates, and the fact that the rates are retroactive to the first of January 2007, it is believed that many of the small web casters will not be able to pay the rates and fees and thus, be put out of business. Public broadcasting will be endangered as a result and the public will lose the opportunity to listen to new and independent artists and different niche music not carried on the typical AM/FM stations.

Live365, Inc. is an internet radio that provides several services to the web caster, including Live Streaming Audio. Stoddard has been with the company since 2001 and has served as Director of Broadcast Sales since April of last year.

FM Odyssey, produced and hosted by Migliore, recreates the lost art of the true free-form, FM format that listeners knew and loved, and wouldn't mind hearing again. It can be heard at FMOdyssey.us and is powered by Yaktivate.com.

Yaktivate.com is a podcast network that features podcast shows on channels that reflect a wide range topics -- from golf to business strategies to internet radio politics and beyond. Yaktivate.com is always on the lookout for new podcasting talent and for businesses that are seeking a powerful way to reach their niche marketing audience.
