New York, NY (PRWEB) July 6, 2007 -- BreakThru Radio (BTR), the Internet's source for the World's Best Independent Music, announces the world premiere of two very special new specialty shows, called "World Hip-Hop" and "Glich IDM". These cutting edge shows will offer listeners the opportunity to hear incredible new music from two unique genres: world hip-hop and intelligent dance music. "World Hip-Hop" and "Glich IDM" are just the latest original installments in the station's exclusive and successful series of specialty shows. Both of these shows can be found only on www.breakthruradio.com.
"World Hip-Hop" was created by the Urban Umpires to give BTR listeners a chance to hear the different types of hip-hop music from around the world. A new edition of "World Hip-Hop" will air Sundays on BTR and will be hosted by a series of rotating DJs. The first episode is hosted by DJ Crush Delight, who also hosts the "Downtime" show on BTR. Future episodes will include the musical findings of DJ Santero and DJ Rascue (also the host of BTR's "Dancehall").
"Basically, 'World Hip-Hop' conveys hip-hop from around the world," explains DJ Just Jay of the Urban Umpires production crew. "Hip-hop is very different worldwide. It's not about all of the bling you associate with American hip-hop. It's more of a political statement. It's a message born out of people who had no voice. It's more like old school hip-hop in other areas of the world."
"Glitch IDM" (which will air Mondays on BTR) is a show dedicated to the growing Intelligent Dance Music movement. It is hosted by DJ Tha Fruit Bat. IDM is a genre best described as "punk rock meets jungle meets house meets trip-hop/hip-hop with a mixture of technology." It is quickly growing very popular amongst high school and college students.
"There are not a lot of IDM shows out there today," DJ Just Jay says. "IDM is a product of those who want to be experimental. It has to do with the producing style used to create the music. It wouldn't be possible to mix all these different genres together without the computer technology we have today."
With the addition of "World Hip-Hop" and "Glitch IDM," BTR further fulfills its goal of offering listeners complete on-demand, free programming that caters to whatever music niche their taste lies in. Other BTR specialty shows feature the best in independent jazz, hip-hop, folk, alt-country, metal, bhangra beats, and more.
"World Hip-Hop" kicks off on Sunday, July 8, while "Glitch IDM" premieres on Monday, July 9. Both will be available in the station's archive and program guide, along with all of BTR's previous specialty programs. Listeners can tune in to hear these unique new shows by visiting www.breakthruradio.com.
