Author Neil Spagna Announces Renewal of Charitable Commitment When Second Edition of Welcome To Pottersville is Released This Fall
Neil Spagna, the award winning author of Welcome To Pottersville, vows continued support to Don Imus and the Imus Cattle Ranch for Kids with Cancer in Ribera, New Mexico.
Fairfield, CT (PRWEB) July 19, 2007 -- First time author Neil Spagna announced today that when he publishes the second edition of his award winning book, Welcome To Pottersville, a portion of his royalties will again go to the charitable efforts of Don Imus.
Since July 2006, Spagna has donated more than $10,000 in book royalties and other monies to the Imus Ranch. "Ever since the infamous double firing of Imus by MSNBC and CBS (in April 2007), people have approached me on whether I too was going to 'fire' Imus and switch charities," says Spagna.
Spagna has never met or spoke to Imus. "I did receive a nifty form letter with a stamped signature of both Don and Deirdre (wife of Imus) on it," said the author.
"I felt like I needed to make this announcement once and for all," said Spagna. "Besides, after many of his famous friends deserted him, Imus needs guys like me more than ever. I am confident that he will make a comeback soon. Imus is someone whose good deeds far outweigh his bad ones. I wanted to continue to be part of the good side of the Imus story."
The first edition of Welcome To Pottersville is available only in soft cover. The new edition "will be available in hardcover and as an e-book which people can download directly to their computers," said the author. Mr. Spagna plans the release for October 2007 to coincide with the start of baseball's post-season and World Series.
Neil Spagna is the author of various emails, book reports, term papers, proposals, business letters and post cards. Welcome To Pottersville is his first book. He lives in Connecticut with his son Jack, daughter Sophia, and his wife and best friend, Hadley.
Welcome To Pottersville: How The Yankees Took Over New York and Why The Mets Matter More Than Ever is the winner of the 2007 Connecticut Press Club Book of the Year. It is available at Welcome To Pottersville as well as all major internet booksellers.
