A Picture of a Cow Is Changing People's Lives
A picture of a lone cow, entitled "In the Field on the Wall", is quickly developing a cult status amongst internet surfers.
Calhoun, GA (PRWEB) July 17, 2007 -- Jason Brumbelow wants you to feel what he felt. And he's put up a website to help.
His website, In the field on the wall , isn't offering advice or any money-making system. Instead, it's offering a simple picture - a picture of a cow. A cow, in a field; which you can frame. And then hang on the wall.
Ok, this is sounding odd. Perhaps it's best to let Brumbelow explain:
"One day, I was driving home from my parent's house, and passed by a farmer's field. In this field was a lone cow. Just something about the scene told me to stop. I did, and was almost awestruck at what I was looking at. At this one moment, this scene… this lone cow in its field, with the setting sun behind it… was telling me that all was alright with the world. It's almost hard to describe, to be honest."
Brumbelow grabbed his camera and took a picture. He could but hope that he captured what he was feeling. It wasn't until he developed the picture that he knew he indeed had. "It was astonishing, to be frank. The feeling the picture produced was stronger than I could have ever hoped for."
It could have ended there. Brumbelow framed his picture, hung it in his office, and left it at that. It wasn't until a few days later that he realized the picture had the same effect on almost everyone who viewed it. "People would come into my office and comment on the picture. To a person, they were moved, calmed… again, it's hard to explain. But one thing is clear - this is an astounding picture."
So astounding that Brumbelow put up a website to offer the picture to others. But the website is odd in that it uses only words to sell the picture. In other words, people are asked to buy the picture site unseen. "The decision not to show the picture was easy, really," says Brumbelow "putting it online would ruin it. I don't want this picture used as someone's computer desktop. It's far too special for that. Besides, we're only asking $9.77 for a 18x24 print, so it's not like it's a giant risk."
Brumbelow is also happy to report that he has not had one complaint. Everyone who has purchased a picture has been happy with their purchase. "That nobody has said 'hey, this isn't what you said it was' is very gratifying to me. It means they are feeling what I felt when looking at that lone cow. It's amazing, really."
In a Field on the Wall is being called one of the finest photographs ever taken. It captures a true depth of emotion that simply radiates from it. It is not available anywhere but the company website at In the field on the wall
