Online Christian Social Network Launches in Ohio with the Nation's Top Pastors
COMTACTICS, a multimedia and Internet solutions firm, launched its first of many social networks called ChurchOhio.com. A Christian-based Internet community that highlights churches and ministries in Ohio.
Dayton, OH (PRWEB) July 22, 2007 -- The fastest growing Christian-based social network in the Midwest region, ChurchOhio.com, was in beta for over 10 months and was officially launched on July 7 of 2007. Since then, the community has been rapidly growing with an average page view count of over 20,000 a day. This online family environment is considered to be a "safe social network" because of its built-in red flag system for obscene content and its parameters for advertisement, which eliminates derogatory banner exposure. The online Christian community has a place for streaming video and it also has a free church directory for Ohio churches. Local Pastors Lamont Monford of Philippian Missionary Baptist Church and Rev. Bruce Moxley of Dominion Ministries International, who have been with the community since its inception, are very pleased with the response they have received through ChurchOhio.com. "ChurchOhio.com is a great outreach vehicle because it has not only sent new visitors to our web site but it has also brought in new visitors to DMI church here in Clayton, Ohio," said Pastor Bruce Moxley.
According to NBC News, because of the recent rise of sexual predators and negative peer pressure within social networks, parents have become more skeptical of their child's or children's interaction with people over the Web. ChurchOhio.com was created to rival those social networks, particularly the ones that contain religious content in a community that may not be conducive for spiritual growth. "People should not have be subjected to negative advertisement and provocative media content while trying to become empowered by God's Word," stated Sean E. Fields owner of COMTACTICS. ChurchOhio.com currently has several well known pastors and ministers in their database, including Pastor Rod Parsley of World Harvest Church, based in Columbus, Ohio.
Since the launch date, July 2007, ChurchOhio.com has had an average growth rate of over 3,000 visitors a day and is forecasted to have an average of over 200,000 a month by November of this year. In spite of the surprising online population, Sean says the focus is still to empower the brick and mortar churches in Ohio. "One of the main objectives of ChurchOhio.com is to empower churches in Ohio by increasing their visibility and also to provide believers with a way to experience a church before they actually visit it." Visitors have also taken advantage of the church directory which allows for churches to upload a 2 minute snippet of video showcasing their worship experience. "My job requires for me to travel a lot on the weekends so I have used the ChurchOhio.com directory on several occasion to find a church to visit," stated Milton Meadows (frequent visitor). ChurchOhio.com is currently looking for 10 churches within Ohio to become partners by providing dynamic spiritual content for the community.
