Popular Freestyle Singer Lands Part In The Off-Broadway Musical, Celia

New York City, NY (PRWEB) July 25, 2007 -- Cuban Singer Nayobe Gomez was born to be in the entertainment world. At the tender age of 11, Nayobe was first introduced through a family member to the life of entertainment at a local Broadway work shop offered at H.O.L.A. (Hispanic Organization of Latin Actors). The workshop opened up many opportunities for her. Her first experience at the workshop was playing understudy to, no other than the great Lena Horne. This experience opened the door for Nayobe to the world of theater. At the tender age of 12 Nayobe landed a part on the Broadway play Annie; this was just the beginning of a wonderful journey for this gifted singer.

Being the first freestyle artist, with worldwide hits such as "Please Don' Go" and "Second Chance for Love", Nayobe is most notably known for her incredible vocal talents. She also landed a cameo appearance in one of the first hip/hop movies entitled "Krush Grove".

Because of her talents it comes to no surprise that Nayobe, landed a part in one of Largest Latin broadway productions "Celia - The Musical". Upon learning that she had landed a part in the play the singer had this to say, "Being Cuban and to know that I will be a part of a play that will honor the life of an extremely talented Cuban icon and just knowing that I am able to share a part of her life even after her death is an incredible honor."

Celia-The Musical, chronicles the life of an artist's love for her country revealed through a musical life that spans more than 60 years. The musical will be directed by Jaime Azpilicueta whose credits include Spanish versions of "My Fair Lady" and "Evita", produced by well-known Latin entertainment giant Henry Cardenas and co-producerd by David Maldonado.
