Homes For Our Troops founder, John Gonsalves, will hold a press conferences at 37 Godiva Lane (near 200 Skinner Hill Road), Coventry, CT at 8:00 AM on Friday August 10, 2007. Homes For Our Troops, a non-profit organization that provides specially adapted homes for severely wounded veterans, announced today that it will host a Press Conference to launch a "Build Brigade" event for a specially adapted home building project for USMC, Sgt. Brian Johnston.
Coventry, CT (PRWEB) August 10, 2007 -- Homes For Our Troops, a non-profit organization that provides specially adapted homes for severely wounded veterans, announced today that it will host a Press Conference to launch a "Build Brigade" event for a specially adapted home building project for USMC, Sgt. Brian Johnston.
Sgt. Brian Johnston, USMC, from Charlie Company, 1st Battalion, 3rd Marines, 1st Marine Division, was wounded November 8, 2004 in Fallujah, Iraq, when the Amphibious Assault Vehicle he was riding in was hit by an IED. Brian lost his right leg and right arm in that attack.
Build Brigade!
On Friday August 10, 2007 we will be hosting a marathon build event (that we call a "Build Brigade") at the site of Brian's project located at the new Godiva Lane subdivision near 200 Skinner Hill Road in Coventry, Connecticut. Beginning at 8:00 AM, our goal for the day will be to erect Brian's home by completing the framing, roofing, windows, doors and siding with the help of many volunteers. Basically we will be going from floor to a standing structure in one day! Please come join us for this event!
