Giants In Hollywood

Hall of Giants tour successful for Matt Stansberry Band.

Oklahoma City, Okla. (PRWEB) August 22, 2007 -- Oklahoma's "evolution rock" band, The Matt Stansberry Band (MSB), recently performed two concerts in Hollywood, California in support of their latest EP release, Hall of Giants. The performances were part of the band's Hall of Giants Tour.

The tour that began in February 2007 in Oklahoma City has brought the band radio play, television appearances and a showcase at the Heart of Texas Music Festival during Austin's South by Southwest. The band is comprised of Matt Stansberry, Denver Greene, and Ben Tinius.

"This tour has been very rewarding, both musically and personally," said Matt Stansberry, singer-songwriter and lead guitarist for the Matt Stansberry Band. "Having fans locally is one thing; gaining them around the country is an incredible experience."

Recently, MSB was nominated for "Best Group with Vocal" at this year's LA Music Awards for their Giants track "Code Red". Past nominations and awards have gone to such acts as No Doubt, Sugar Ray, Korn, Black Eyed Peas, and 311.

"Getting nominated for the LA Music Awards made our trip even more worthwhile and got us pumped about our arrival," said Denver Greene, bassist for the Matt Stansberry Band.

The band's first appearance was at the King King on Hollywood Boulevard, followed by The Gig on Melrose Avenue the next night.

"The best new band I've seen this year," said Tara Flynn, ABC Television.

"They were such gifted musicians; I enjoyed watching them as much as listening," said Jason Chanos, veteran equity theater star in Los Angeles, referring to the bands ability to entertain the audience.

Charles Miller, Los Angeles movie producer, summed up the King King performance by saying "The Matt Stansberry Band shook the house in the middle of Hollywood Blvd."

"The Matt Stansberry Band could easily be the feature band on Saturday Night Live...they are that good!" said John Keating, star of the film Thanks for the Ride and seen on Comedy Central's Mind of Mencia.

The MSB will be wrapping up their Hall of Giants Tour this September to focus on a full-length release. For more information visit www.mattstansberryband.com
