University of Pennsylvania Lends a Hand in Honoring Local Heroes at the 3rd Annual John Kulick Memorial Golf Outing

Special opening ceremony tribute starting at 8:45 am on August 24th at Lederach Golf Club.

Blue Bell, PA (PRWEB) August 23, 2007 -- Bright and early this Friday morning, August 24th, people from all over the Delaware Valley will be joining together to honor local heroes at Lederach Golf Club for the 3rd Annual John Kulick Memorial Golf Outing. The event which is named after local Firefighter and Soldier John Kulick who was killed while serving in Iraq in August of 2005, promises to be unlike any other.

For starters, the opening ceremony will feature a tribute brigade for all of our local fallen soldiers. As part of this tribute, bagpipers in full regalia will join forces with the Sheriff, Police and Fire Department Color Guards as they march in sequence with the flashing fire truck, ambulance and police vehicles. As the brigade ends, a special guest from the Army National Guard will be reading off the names of every soldier from our community that has been killed in the war on terror. A bugler will then play a poignant call that summons us to remember all of the patriots who served our country with valor and integrity. The tribute will end with a special flyover visit from the University of Pennsylvania's PennSTAR.

We hope people will take time out of their busy schedules to witness the tribute and remember our heroes
"This is going to be an especially moving ceremony, as well as a great photo opportunity," said Michael Kalinsky, one of the organizers of the event. "We hope people will take time out of their busy schedules to witness the tribute and remember our heroes".

Other highlights of the event include the Awards Dinner presentation of the 2nd Annual John Kulick Heroism Award to be given to Montgomery County DA Bruce Castor for his achievements as a member of the law enforcement community. In addition, there will be a special announcement of the recipient of next year's award to a local celebrity who will be in attendance. A silent auction featuring many priceless items will also be held for the various items donated by local businesses and civic leaders.
