Montco DA Bruce Castor and Commissioner Jim Matthews Surprise 11-Year-Old Amanda Kulick with a Special Announcement

Fire and police training auditorium to be named after her father, firefighter/soldier John Kulick who was killed in Iraq.

Blue Bell, PA (PRWEB) September 6, 2007 -- On August 24th, after receiving the 2007 John Kulick Heroism Award at the 3rd Annual John Kulick Memorial Golf Outing, Montco DA Bruce Castor along with Commissioner Jim Matthews proceeded with making a special announcement of their own in front of an important guest of the evening, 11-year-old Amanda Kulick. Matthews invited Amanda to come up to the podium in front of a crowd of over 125 people to announce their plans to name the fire and police training auditorium at the Public Safety Training Campus after her father, John Kulick.

According to DA Castor, his idea for the dedication request was turned into reality when Matthews pledged his support and stepped in to help make it happen. In addition to appropriating funds to pay for a bust of John to be commissioned, Matthews, along with Sheriff John Durante, reached out to Commissioner Chairman Thomas Ellis and the Fire Advisory Board who agreed unanimously to the decision to dedicate the auditorium in memory of John Kulick.

"We truly appreciate the generosity of DA Castor, Commissioner Matthews and everyone else involved in making this happen," said Michael Kalinsky, one of the organizers of the event. "We certainly weren't expecting this, but it was a wonderful surprise for Amanda and for all of us who new John."

Kalinsky added, "Now John's name can live on and he will continue to be remembered for the hero he was."
