New York, NY (PRWEB) September 8, 2007 -- The WORLD TRADE CENTER SURVIVORS' NETWORK will mark the 6th Anniversary of the September 11th attacks with an event entitled "Remember, Reflect and Respond". The public is invited.

Survivors will gather at the "Survivor Tree," where together they will unite in one voice in the common desire to put an end to acts of terrorism.

Date: Sunday, September 9, 2007, 10:30 am - 12:00 pm
Location: Living Memorial Grove in City Hall Triangle Park, NYC (on Park Row, across from City Hall)

The ceremony will include brief words of reflection by Oklahoma City and WTC Survivors.Survivors will also pay tribute to various groups within the September 11th Community. A rose-petal ceremony will honor each person lost in the World Trade Center, Shanksville and the Pentagon.

The Survivor Tree was planted last year in the Living Memorial Grove. It stands near five trees that stood in the World Trade Center Plaza and survived (http://www.survivorsnet.org/programs/okc.html).

The Survivor Tree, a gift from Oklahoma City, has grown in Lower Manhattan from a cutting of the American elm tree that stood in the parking lot of the former Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building. Though badly damaged in the terror bombing of April 19, 1995, the tree survived and is now part of the Oklahoma City Bombing Outdoor Symbolic Memorial (http://www.oklahomacitynationalmemorial.org).

We are honored to include in our event a performance of "Towers of Light" composed by Russell Daisey and Dr. Judy Kuriansky (http://www.www.towersoflightsong.com) , as well as "Yamato" performed by famous Japanese pop artist Shinji Harada (http://www.shinji-harada.com).
