AEgis Drops Price on Mathematical Modeling and Simulation Software

Today it was announced that the price of the popular acslX software has been reduced in order to make the application accessible to a much wider audience of scientists and engineers. These are the first price reductions in the history of the product, which is used in the aerospace, toxicology, pharmacology, automotive and process engineering fields as a tool for solving complex mathematical modeling and simulation problems.

Huntsville, Alabama (PRWEB / PRWEB) January 15, 2008 -- The AEgis Technologies Group, Inc., a leading supplier of simulation software to the international modeling and simulation community, announced today a substantial price reduction for their popular mathematical modeling and simulation software acslX™. This significantly reduced price will make acslX accessible to a much wider audience of users seeking modeling and simulation tools and services of commercial quality. Currently, acslX is used by scientists and engineers in fields including drug discovery and development, toxicology, aerospace engineering, automotive design, and industrial process engineering to solve complex mathematical problems. The new pricing structure postures acslX as an affordable professional alternative to academic and open source simulation tools such as SciLab, Octave, SAAM II, ADAPT and Berkeley Madonna, as well as other high-end commercial tools including Matlab/Simulink, Dymola, WinNonlin, Mathematica and Maple.

In addition to providing a streamlined set of product configurations, the new permanent price reductions include acslX Optimum 2.4 licenses starting at $500 US. Licensing costs for legacy ACSL products will be unaffected by the acslX changes.

Speaking on the new pricing structure, Conrad Housand, director of acslX development said: "As budgets for software purchases continue to tighten in many markets; engineers and scientists are forced to seek academic and open source options. And although some of these tools have evolved in terms of quality, features and usability, our goal is to provide an affordable commercial alternative which is continuously updated and improved by professional software developers, and which is backed by an organization capable of providing full-service support, training and consulting. So we see the reduced price as an opportunity to capture a significant number of engineers and scientists just starting to use high-end simulation tools, and to help expand the audience of end-users for the models being developed by our current customers."

About acslX
The award-winning acslXtreme environment provides integrated, end-to-end capabilities for model development, simulation execution, and results analysis. Models are specified using either familiar block diagram notation, or code-based descriptions using the CSL modeling language. By default, all model representations are translated into C or FORTRAN language source code for compilation and execution, ensuring the fastest possible performance and support for extremely large or complex models. Open application programming interfaces (APIs) are provided throughout the system to extend acslXtreme functionality, allow the integration of custom or legacy code within acslXtreme models, or to embed the generated simulation into end-user applications. Model code reuse is supported through easily creatable user-defined libraries of simulation blocks. acslXtreme provides a powerful simulation control scripting language and mathematical analysis environment based on the popular M language for mathematical computing.

Version 2.4 of acslX continues the tradition of its predecessor, ACSL, which was one of the first commercially available modeling and simulation tools designed for simulating continuous systems. ACSL has been validated through more than 30 years of continuous use by the world's most demanding simulation professionals.
