(PRWEB) January 24, 2008 -- CFHC provides Sex Ed and community healthcare information to web site visitors seeking information on emergency contraception, birth control, cancer prevention, colposcopy, domestic violence, HIV/AIDS, mammography, reproductive health and Sexually Transmitted Diseases. www.cfhc.org features both free downloads and an online store with educational materials in multilingual translations.

The mission of the California Family Health Council is to "create healthy individuals, families and communities," promoting and advocating sexual health along the continuum of life. From research studies and public policy advocacy to daily work with health care providers throughout California and award-winning materials that are used across the nation, CFHC is active in all areas of the reproductive health arena.

Clean and modern and simple to navigate, www.cfhc.org is full of user-friendly touches. The Events section is a Calendar of Events covering all of CFHC's trainings and conferences. News & Views collects all the fantastic newsletters and blogs run by different CFHC divisions and programs. This is where CFHC staff share their expertise on reproductive health topics such as recommended health education resources and upcoming legislation.

Resources include education about Chlamydia in the Infertility Prevention Project, a nationwide program funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to reduce the prevalence of Chlamydia, the most common reportable sexually transmitted disease in the US. The Pro EC Initiative is full of free materials on Emergency Contraception for providers, including some based on the award-winning outreach campaigns. Materials from CFHC, whether downloaded for free off our websites or purchased from our online store, are all developed with the client's needs in mind. Written to be easily understood and culturally sensitive, pamphlets and other educational materials are available in English, Spanish, Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese, Cambodian, Arabic, Punjabi, Armenian, and Russian.

Programs like our Cooperative Purchasing Program, Research Study Administration, Event Planning, and Materials Development can be found under the Services section. Developed to help not-for-profit organizations use resources efficiently, the Family Planning Cooperative Purchasing Program membership numbers approximately 1000 agencies, with 3,000 clinic sites across the country. CFHC's Research Study Administration is committed to the highest standards of good clinical practice. Whether it's a small local survey or a massive usability study, CFHC Research provides quality results, completed on time and within budget. The Information and Education Division (also found at www.healthed.org) will organize and run customized trainings and conferences; they can also write and produce health education materials on any topic not already covered in their online store!

As the primary Title X grantee for California, CFHC contracts with 65 community based organizations and county agencies throughout the State. These delegate agencies collectively provide direct reproductive and sexual health care to over 700,000 men and women each year, targeting programs for males, teens, the homeless and other populations of need within their communities. Special services not only provide direct medical care for identified populations, but also provide skill enhancements for staff, mentoring and employment opportunities for youth, linkages and collaborations with other community service organizations.

To support the work of the delegate agencies, the California Family Health Council has developed dedicated resources just for them. CFHC was the first in the nation to collect information for its delegate agencies electronically through the Extranet, an online interface for data reporting and fund application. To increase communication between CFHC and the agencies, the Title X Updates blog keeps everyone informed of important news and opportunities regarding service delivery for grantees. Funded this year by a grant from the Kaiser Permanente Foundation, the Title X Intern Program provides graduate students from major universities with paid placements in reproductive health care.

CFHC's website is full of valuable information and resources. Check out www.cfhc.org to learn more.
