New Jersey Landscape Architect Utilizes New Natural Thin-Stone Veneer for its Beauty and Economical Practicality on New Jersey Landscape Projects

Bill Moore New Jersey Certified Landscape Architect of Cipriano Landscape Design specifies new thin stone veneer for company's talented masonry artists to create luxurious hardscape elements using this cost-effective and increasingly sought-after material.

Ramsey, NJ (PRWEB) March 13, 2008 -- Bill Moore New Jersey Certified Landscape Architect of Cipriano Landscape Design specifies new thin stone veneers for company's talented masonry artists to create luxurious hardscape elements using this cost-effective and increasingly sought-after material.

For hundreds of years, natural stone has been a preferred construction material not only for its durability, but also for its unparalleled beauty. The variety of textures, tones, colors and grains available makes it a unique and versatile design choice with timeless appeal. But installing natural stone can be costly. The intensive labor, raw material cost and masonry supplies can put it out of reach for the average consumer and frequently limits the amount that can be used even in a high-end project.

Now thin-stone veneers are making construction even more affordable and desirable. Thin stone can be applied to preexisting structures, yet it gives walls and other surfaces the illusion of being made exclusively from natural stone. Quick to install and lighter to handle, thin stone allows for easier manipulability and flexibility of use. "Thin-stone veneers are the fastest-growing products in the masonry market," says Chris Cipriano, president of Cipriano Landscape Design. "Their structure is so lightweight and versatile it allows us to incorporate natural stone into more outdoor features where normally it would have been too costly."

In Mahwah, N.J., one project designed and executed by Cipriano Landscape Design epitomizes the use of thin stone for wall veneers. An outdoor fireplace, kitchen-grill area and cabana share coordinating surfaces that are as impressive as thicker veneers. The puzzle-like placement of the thin stone was critical to achieve the desired aesthetic, while maintaining the functionality of the space. The client also requested custom touches including a hand-carved inlay and weathered mantel on the fireplace, and a smooth, marble finish on a countertop for dining. Complex projects, such as this, require that an experienced mason execute the preparation and stone installation, Cipriano says. "Our masons have installed over 25,000 square feet of veneer in just the past five years and are educated in the advantages of the latest stone technologies," Cipriano says. "This type of proactive approach has placed our work on the cutting-edge of advancements in masonry design."

Despite the many advantages of thin stone, the up-close appearance of depth will never equal that of, say, a four-inch stone. "But the numerous advantages in product outcome are outstanding," Cipriano says. "Thin stone opens the use of natural stone for more applications than ever before."

Established in 1989, Cipriano Landscape Design is a recognized industry leader in custom residential landscaping and swimming pool design and construction. After a little more than a decade in business, the company catapulted to the top of the state's luxury landscaping and pool industries when it was awarded a $2.5 million residential landscape project. Today along with the Ramsey, N.J. office, the Cipriano family also owns a 10-acre farm and nursery in Mahwah, N.J., where large caliper specimen trees and other rare plants are grown. With a design office headed by Certified Landscape Architect William Moore, the Cipriano team recently won the Northeast Pool and Spa Association's 2007 Best in Competition swimming pool award. www.PlantNJ.com
