Fort Worth, Texas (PRWEB) April 12, 2008 -- A twelve foot Crocodile, five Lions, two Tigers, a Polar Bear, a Lord Derby Eland (largest of the world's antelope), Elk and hundreds of smaller game animals, almost 700 taxidermy items, are up for auction from a natural history museum liquidation and private collections of big game Safari hunters. "We have some of the finest quality and most unusual taxidermy mounts ever sold," said John Brommel, sale organizer and owner of the Corner Shoppe in Austin. "The full size animals make quite a statement in the entrance to a restaurant or the foyer of your home. You can bet that your next door neighbor won't have a 12' crocodile lying around in their house." The sale has many of the full body mounts such as Black and Grizzly Bears, African Lion, Tiger, Bongo, Nile Lechwe and Wildebeest plus Hippo, Elephant and Cape Buffalo, Longhorn and American Buffalo shoulder mounts. They will also auction offmany record book mounts such as Boone & Crockett White Tail Deer, Elk, Moose, and Mule Deer.
The taxidermy items representing hundreds of species even include freshwater and saltwater fish in addition to bird mounts such as Pheasant, Quail and a full size Peacock. There will be unusual African mounts such as Gemsbok, Sable, Oryx, Black Buck, Water Buck, Kudu, Ibex, Monkey, Baboon, Impala, and Dik Dik, Duiker, plus North American and other animals such as Big Horn Sheep, Raccoon, Bobcats, Porcupine, Artic Fox, Warthog, Coyote and Wolverine.
There are about 1500 items in all including pre-Columbian artifacts, ivory pieces, animal skulls, Native American jewelry, firearms, knives, swords and spears. The western furniture and dïr items include framed art, bronze sculptures, trunks, coffee tables, blankets, bar stools, metal art, wagon wheels, antler chandeliers, lamps, cowboy and Indian collectibles, antlers and horns-- for rustic style home or establishment.
