The show's simulcast will be exclusively available at the Sunset Live web site and at the CD Pulse web site to fans of live music all over the world. Arlie Patten from Blackbird says from his Hollywood house in California that he thinks this is "a great idea that will give us some marketing and publicity to our fans." One month after the release of their debut new studio album, "SONGS FOR THE BROKEN HEARTED," Blackbird will headline the early century theatre that had been converted to this incredible rock club, seats 400, and audiences around the world will be able to watch the show live from their home or at other bars and clubs around the world.
"This event is very special for me because it takes the live downloads concept to another level," says Don Lichterman, the head of Sunset Records and Sunset Live Entertainment. "First off, I grew up on live music," Lichterman continues, "whether it was recording live shows off FM radio and seeing music live, that is how I started to love music as a kid." Lichterman also says that adding live simulcast to the Sunset Live download company adds value to live downloads in the same way DVDs are added value for consumers compared to CDs. "It's that same mentality I have today with David Gans and CD Pulse that I had with DVDs when I started Sunset." He says, "You cannot sell a CD for more than ten dollars at retail today where as a DVD can sell for fifteen, twenty or twenty five bucks" and "it basically costs the same to manufacturer lines of DVDs as it does to make CDs."
It is that added value that attracted Lichterman to his latest deal with his Sunset Live Entertainment Company and CD Pulse. Sunset recording artist Blackbird's eagerly anticipated debut album, "SONGS FOR THE BROKEN HEARTED," is available exclusively at Target and inline at Amazon today.
