Solana Aboard for Comeback of The Captain and Tennille

The Captain and Tennille are setting sail on a comeback this Christmas, and Solana Productions, Inc., was aboard to videotape an exclusive interview and performance footage with the 70s pop music duo for TV's "Entertainment Tonight.

La Quinta, Calif. (PRWEB) January 5, 2008 -- The Captain and Tennille are setting sail on a comeback this Christmas, and Solana Productions, Inc. (www.SolanaProductions.com), was aboard to videotape an exclusive interview and performance footage with the 70s pop music duo for TV's "Entertainment Tonight."

Best known for their smash hit, "Love Will Keep Us Together," keyboard player Daryl Dragon - The Captain - and his wife, singer Toni Tennille, just released a new CD, "The Secret of Christmas" and a boxed DVD set of their TV specials. The album features traditional carols and new holiday songs, including "Christmas in California," written by Tennille.

A multi-camera crew and director from Solana Productions, Inc., videotaped an intimate performance of "Christmas in California" at Dragon's and Tennille's home outside Palm Springs, California. Solana utilized both Betacam and DV cam formats and staged an elaborate lighting set-up for ET's interview with the couple.

Dragon and Tennille, now in their 60s, reminisced about their careers, their popular variety TV show and working alongside 70s contemporaries such as Karen Carpenter, who died of complications from the eating disorder anorexia nervosa.

The "Entertainment Tonight" segment on The Captain and Tennille aired on Thursday, Dec. 20.

Solana Productions, Inc., is a San Diego-based videotape production company specializing in broadcast, cable and corporate TV production. In addition to "Entertainment Tonight," the company handles ENG field production for "The Insider," "Dr. Phil," "Rachael Ray," and other TV shows.
