Companies Align to Offer Affordable, Online Coaching Certification and Background Checks for Youth Sports

CoachingSchool.org and SportsSignup announced CertifiedCoachPremier, an online service that makes coach certification more accessible and more affordable for youth sports organizations. The new service includes online coaching classes, a 35 question exam, and a comprehensive, nationwide criminal background check.

Latham, N.Y. (PRWEB) January 8, 2008 -- Youth sports organizations now have a way to "do the right thing" when it comes to educating coaches and ensuring they have completed a criminal background check. CoachingSchool.org and SportsSignup announced today a new online service called CertifiedCoachPremier, which features online coaching classes, a 35 question exam, and a comprehensive, nationwide criminal background check. CertifiedCoachPremier enables youth sports administrators to educate large numbers of coaches - and to ensure 100% compliance with their risk management initiatives, all through a suite of affordable online services ranging from $9 to $12 per coach, per year.

"One of the problems for coaches today is that there are very few resources available for them to obtain the 'soft-skills' necessary to deal with children in recreational or competitive environments," said Gary Avischious, president of CoachingSchool.org. "Because it is totally online and offered at a very affordable price point, CertifiedCoachPremier makes the education part much more accessible to youth sports organizations, and also gives the added assurance that their volunteers have had adequate background checks. From a parent's perspective, knowing that your children's coaches are both compliant and competent is a really big deal," added Avischious.

The new service is a result of combining KidSafePlus™ coach and volunteer background checking, offered by SportsSignup, with the recently launched CertifiedCoach program, offered by CoachingSchool.org. Both companies have been successfully servicing youth sports organizations for several years, and have agreed to jointly market the new service to their growing customer base. "The synergy between our companies and these two unique services was clear right from the start," said Anthony Bruno, CEO at SportsSignup. "Youth sports administrators have a lot to worry about, and the idea of comprehensive coach certification is often overlooked because of the perceived level of effort or expense - now it is fully online, easy, and affordable to implement," continued Bruno.

CertifiedCoachPremier subscriptions range from $9 to $12 per coach, per year, based on a 2 year certification. The combined service is available today.
