Gameplay HD Is Cablevision's HD Channel Of The Day, As Part Of The Company's Continuing "45 Days in HD, on iO TV(SM)" Countdown

Ongoing Salute To Excellence In HD Programming Recognizes Each Of The 45 High-Definition Services iO TV Customers Receive At No Additional Cost

Bethpage, NY (PRWEB) January 11, 2008 -- Cablevision Systems Corp. today is recognizing Gameplay HD as its HD Channel of the Day, as part of the ongoing "45 Days in HD, on iO TV" countdown. Available to Cablevision's iO TV customers on channel 786, Gameplay HD is the only 24/7 video game network capable of delivering the full gaming experience through the magic of hi-def by using next-generation games to create next-generation television. Gameplay HD brings the video game world to life by utilizing the stunning, native HD resolution of today's games and consoles featuring three tiers of entertainment including industry news & information, coverage of competitions from around the world, and original series and specials that tap into the storytelling power of games. Aimed at the 76 million video gamers in the United States, Gameplay HD takes viewers behind-the-scenes with the creative talent behind the best-selling titles in history and offers strategy tips from the creators of everything from the newest games to arcade classics and more.

During the countdown, Cablevision is recognizing each of the 45 high-definition services iO customers receive at no additional cost, including all nine local professional sports teams in HD. Unlike its satellite and phone company competitors, Cablevision does not impose additional fees and charges on customers who want to "see" in HD.

"We are pleased to honor Gameplay HD as today's Channel of the Day in our ongoing '45 Days in HD, on iO TV' countdown," said John Trierweiler, Cablevision's senior vice president of product management. "Gameplay HD's unique content aimed at the millions of video-gamers throughout the country is a great example of the quality and diversity of high-definition programming iO TV customers enjoy."

The program stitches together the "cut scene" cinematics and actual Gameplay to deliver the cohesive storyline of a game. Based on the blockbuster film, this videogame follows Jack Sparrow, Will Turner and Elizabeth Swann as they battle Lord Beckett and Davy Jones for control of the seas.
