She was left to raise their two-month-old son alone. Nearly thirty years went by as she struggled to work, pay the bills, and raise her son successfully on her own, all while sensing there was a great deal of pain buried deep inside her.

"I had to face the truth about my life," says Ella. "I had been treated worse than an abandoned, abused animal.
