Help for Struggling Families

Follow God's plan for marriage to find health and happiness

Longwood, FL (PRWEB) January 17, 2008 -- "Marriage is a divine institution, created by God and made holy, and it was designed to meet human needs," says Conrad A. Reichert, Ph.D., in his book Bible Foundations for Marriage and Family Living in the 21st Century (paperback, 978-1-60477-447-4; hardcover, 978-1-60477-448-1).

The breakdown of the family is a problem that needs to be addressed, the author says. "Given that the number of divorces every year is about one-half the number of marriages, one must conclude that modern family living does not meet the needs of individuals today." But when God brought Adam and Eve together as man and wife He "designed a plan for family living that would meet everyone's mental, physical, spiritual, social and emotional needs."

The explosion of knowledge and advances in technology in the last century have caused an ongoing upheaval in our society. And marriage and family life have suffered the consequences. But "the principles of marriage and family living outlined in the Bible are as relevant in the 21st century as they were when they were written," says the author. "The ideal plan still exists, it is still valid today, and it ought not to have been discarded by modern thinkers."

"Do you want to have marital and family happiness?" the author asks. "Do it God's way," he urges.

Conrad A. Reichert, Ph.D., is a licensed clinical psychologist and earned his doctorate at Cornell University. He has practiced psychology and family therapy for more than 30 years. He and his wife, Joyce, have four children and nine grandchildren.
