These filmmakers are being applauded for their independence, for finding their own voices and making themselves heard. yudu also celebrates independence and commitment. All of our clothing is printed with our core belief: yudu make a difference.

Park City, Utah, January 17, 2008 -- As the Sundance Institute celebrates the world’s most talented independent filmmakers, yudu premieres an organic clothing line that couples high design with higher principles.

“Sundance is the perfect place for us to launch our brand,” explains yudu co-founder Eric Burka. “These filmmakers are being applauded for their independence, for finding their own voices and making themselves heard. yudu also celebrates independence and commitment. All of our clothing is printed with our core belief: yudu make a difference.”

yudu does things differently. Its founders believe each person can make small decisions everyday that show their commitment to make the world a better place. Using the best available environmentally-friendly materials, yudu makes clothing that says something about who you are, what you can be and your capacity to have an impact.

True to their beliefs, Burka and his co-founder, Gabby Rojchin, have pledged to share yudu’s corporate profits with organizations dedicated to social and environmental change. Says Rojchin: “yudu believes looking good can be synonymous with doing good. To change the world, change your clothes.”

yudu chose the Sundance Institute as their first beneficiary. Announcing the gift, Rojchin explains, “Sundance supports artists willing to take chances as independent filmmakers. Many take on socially conscious themes, telling stories that make a difference. Our company and our customers literally wear their commitment on their sleeve and support social activism just as Sundance does. Our mission mirrors theirs.”

Eric Burka and Gabby Rojchin have spent nearly twenty years in the design industry, leading Burka Studios and SUMO Creative respectively. Finally Eric and Gabby were swept up in the same passionate entrepreneurial spirit that drove so many of their clients’ businesses. Eric and Gabby decided to combine their creative and strategic thinking with their social commitment and launched yudu.

yudu will sponsor the Fred Segal store located at The Lift, a 30,000sf special event venue and press conference facility. For more information visit www.yudulife.com.
