New York, NY (PRWEB) January 21, 2008 -- Pierce Mattie Public Relations' innovative "Media Oasis" in Times Square has been tagged by Beauty and Fashion editors as an environment that promotes a unique learning experience, crossing and connecting the media and client in one versatile location of beauty and serenity. The Media Oasis' tranquil atmosphere sets a new standard in the industry by allowing brands to showcase their products and services to the media in an intimate setting fostering more in-depth communication between the two.

"The origin of the Media Oasis stemmed from our clients asking us to provide services in a controlled environment where the brand's integrity would not be compromised with the media present," said Joanna Roche, Executive Vice President of Pierce Mattie PR.

"My vision of the Media Oasis was to have the feel of a very modern day resort, while still maintaining the function of a large corporate office. Pierce Mattie and I transformed what would normally be a nicely decorated corporate office into a retreat, not only for the many magazine editors that visit the New York office, but also for the employees of Pierce Mattie Public Relations. The results of which we are very proud of; part work, part relaxation, less stress, better living and going home with a peace of mind," said Edward Thornton, chief designer from Thornton & Associates; the architectural firm responsible for creating the revolutionary Media Oasis.

The Media Oasis is a 4,000 square foot custom built retreat designed to harmoniously blend the media and our luxury lifestyle clients. "The majority of our brands do not have corporate facilities in Manhattan. This often presented a missed experience when our team would go to pitch a brand to the press. We found ourselves renting hotel suites and taking over spas and hair salons to do events with beauty editors and shoot TV shows with segment producers. We wanted to bring this experience in-house. We are confident that Media Oasis is the right tool to maximize their media exposure," said Lance Buckley, Account Director at Pierce Mattie. Guests of the Oasis can receive exclusive facial treatments, body massages, manicures and pedicures, aromatherapy sessions, chemical peels and body treatments based on what brand is being pitched at that time. The clandestine milieu is also outfitted with a shampoo room fit for scalp treatments and hair processing.

The lobby features an elevated hair and makeup studio with a product showcase. Media professionals will have hands-on opportunities to learn avant garde hair styling trends and makeup application as well as color forecasting. Adjacent to the hair and makeup studio, designed by Stone Source, is the fashion showroom and media learning hub. The versatile space can also be transformed into a unique promotions facility for special events where one brand may be featured exclusively. Each brand is rotated on an ongoing basis, designed to equally exhibit our client's voices.

The soothing chocolate-stained wood floored lobby is simply furnished with soft white leather banquettes accented with elegant flowing jade curtains. "The Media Oasis was designed to pleasantly interact with the five human senses" said Thornton. Soft sights, sounds, and textures are complemented by the superb taste of a cold beverage along with the relaxing release of aromatherapy scents throughout the Oasis, provided by Scent Air™. "Pierce is keen on smell; we spent a year searching for the finest industrial strength aromatherapy company to create the precise scent atmosphere for the office The motion-activated units are strategically concealed in various ceiling and wall fixtures." said Thornton. Additionally, the lobby transforms into an exercise room and yoga studio where mats lay flat for instructional evening classes.

Thornton & Associates is owned and managed by celebrity architect Edward Thornton. His exclusive and private clientele approach him to design both commercial properties including night clubs, restaurants, as well as summer homes in the Hamptons and tropical resorts in the Caribbean. In junction with Thornton & Associates, the Media Oasis was enhanced by Stone Source of Soho, New York, with a handcrafted treatment room, hair and makeup studio and shampoo room using brown-suede flooring and technoline moka tile. Spa equipment was provided by Spa Central™ of Minneapolis, Minnesota. The bar and lounge area exhibits a distinct Italian tile by Bisazza Mosaico. Designs for the publicist's offices, located on the north side of the building were created by McCloskey Carpentry with an ergonomic friendly vision; using flat screen monitors, neutral colors and open work stations encouraging the brand advocates to work in teams. The complete construction was managed by Interiors Group, LLC.
