Finding Hope in the Midst of Grief

The loss of author's son leads her to find meaning and purpose.

Longwood, FL (PRWEB) January 20, 2008 -- When you lose a child, you are in a sense thrown into captivity. People don't know what to say or they say the wrong thing, and sometimes you end up feeling like your child has been forgotten. You learn quickly that other people are often uncomfortable with grief and it is not safe to talk about your child. For many people who have lost a child, having that child acknowledged is their greatest need. In Jennifer Carson's Letters to My Glory Baby: A Personal Journey of Love, Loss and Hope ($13.99, paperback, 978-1-60477-171-8), the author shares her journey down that dark and lonely road called grief. This day-by-day personal account of her struggles with the pain of losing her son will resonate with those who have lost a child themselves and are looking for hope to survive the pain, and those who just want a better understanding of someone close to them who is grieving.

Says Carson, "I am passionate about coming alongside others who are grieving and having difficulty finding purpose or hope in the midst of their pain. I have personally walked through the grief of losing a child and have facilitated a support group called Glory Babies for the past six years."

Letters to My Glory Baby contains seven years' worth of letters from the author to her son, and it will give readers a window into one woman's life as she struggles for meaning and purpose in the midst of her grief. "This book allows you to see the hope there for us all," the author explains.

Jennifer Carson lives in Tyler, Texas, with her husband of 15 years, Billy Dan, and their two children, Ancel and Hope.

Xulon Press, a part of Salem Communications Corporation, is the world's largest Christian publisher, with more than 4,000 titles published to date. Retailers may order Letters to My Glory Baby through Ingram Book Company and/or Spring Arbor Book Distributors.
