Author Conquers Impossible Odds Through God's Assistance

Book tells the continuing story of God's miracles in lives of one family.

Longwood, FL (PRWEB) January 27, 2008 -- Xulon author Mary Davis Cutler's The First Gleam of Dawn ($17.99, paperback, 978-1-60477-403-0), is set against the colorful backdrop of the Depression, World War II, the complacent '50s and the tumultuous '60s -- during which the nation underwent a decade of upheaval -- chronicles how God patiently and carefully wove the tapestry of the first fifty years of her life.

Cutler thought she was living the good life. After marrying her college sweetheart, they had built their dream home and become leaders in their church and schools. Then began a series of trials that shook her world. She suffered from clinical depression, her son flunked out of college, and the elder of her two daughters and her son-in-law began doing drugs and established a hippie commune before he left her to seek spiritual enlightenment in India.

Then Mary received a shocking phone call concerning her daughter that caused her to cry out in desperation to God for help. That's when the miracles began.

Says Cutler, "This is a story to which many can relate. It concerns a family pursuing the American Dream who find that, despite their best efforts to build a good life, problems arise that seem impossible to overcome. Then Jesus appears and, in His light, all things become possible."

All her life, Cutler has loved reading books and writing. Thus it was only natural when the desire to write her own book arose some 30 years ago. Approaching her 80th birthday, she was surprised by the strong urging she received from God to pen an autobiography under His leading and enabling in order to accomplish His purposes. She already has a sequel in the works -- Till the Full Light of Dawn -- that tells the continuing story of God's miracles in her life, from the early years of the Charismatic Renewal to the dawn of the 21st century. "I hope [readers have a 'good read' which will culminate in a joyous renewal of faith for some and transformed lives for others."
