Author Imbues Dry, Difficult Reading with a Spark of Life

New book paints an exciting picture of the events that took place in Genesis

Longwood, FL (PRWEB) January 27, 2008 -- Although many people desire a deeper understanding of the Bible, they consider it dry or difficult reading. However, a careful look at each person, the events in which they were involved, and their actions or reactions helps yield a plethora of information about the struggles and emotions they grappled with--the very same ones that have plagued our lives. As we see the influence of God's Spirit manifested in man's search for answers, we are led to realize how God cares for and guides us in our personal search for peace and fulfillment. Veteran author Veda Duff Tohline's Citizens of Time in Genesis (paperback, 978-1-60266-953-6; hardcover, 978-1-60266-954-3) is the first in a series of seven books that tell the Genesis Bible story as experienced by its individual characters to help the reader relate, in a more personal way, to the events that took place in Genesis.

Says Tohline, "Through these individual accounts, the reader should be able to see the similarity of the Bible character's experiences and his own. The books in this series give a unique approach and a deeper understanding of the Bible."

A retired schoolteacher and minister's wife, Tohline has read the entire Bible many times and has consulted commentaries written by many noted Bible scholars for the information in her book. The book, which includes reflections that follow each chapter, guides the reader in examining their own life and recognizing their weaknesses and strengths as they affect their search for peace and happiness.

Veda Duff Tohline grew up on a farm in South Louisiana during the Depression. She married a young minister, and during their 36 years of ministry, her relationship with God has been exciting.
