Hot New Music Gear Debuts at Winter NAMM Music Trade Show

In the field of musical instruments, computer recording, and home and project studio gear, new entries include electric guitars from Epiphone and Ibanez; affordable computer DAW control surfaces by Euphonix; studio monitors from Mackie, and keyboards from Korg.

Epiphone introduced its new Les Paul Prophecy electric guitars, the Custom-GX with Gibson's high-output Dirty Fingers pickups, and Custom-EX with EMG pickups. They both feature highly figured quilted maple tops, pearl knobs, and bound ebony necks with unique blade inlays. Ibanez presented its cosmetically enhanced RG series which include the RG370DXGP Ibanez Electric guitar with camouflage finish and the black spider web-pattern textured RG420EG Ibanez electric guitar. Joining the cosmetics fray, but in the synthesizer category, is the Korg X50-CF synthesizer, which sports a trendy camouflage exterior--a first in the world of keyboards.    

Euphonix, a world-leader in large-format consoles, has reinvented themselves for the computer-based project studio with the affordable MC series controllers; the MC Control and MC Mix. Borrowing technology from their professional HR series monitors, Mackie introduced the very affordable MR series of active studio monitors, which includes the biamped, 5" MR5 and 8" MR8.
