Conklin Fangman Remodels Kansas City Location

Leading Kansas City Used Car Dealer improves showroom and surrounding area.

Kansas City, MO (PRWEB) January 30, 2008 -- Construction is underway on a significant remodeling project at Conklin Fangman Motor Company in Kansas City Missouri. The Cadillac Buick Pontiac GMC dealership, formerly Major Cadillac, is in the middle of upgrading seven areas of the store at 3200 Main Street. Those areas involve customer parking, display lighting, used vehicle display lot, fencing, landscaping, outdoor new vehicle plaza, and the showroom. Conklin Fangman can be found online at: http://www.conklinfangman.com .

Customer Parking

With only 7 customer parking spaces, parking has always been at a premium for both Conklin Fangman and Major. Conklin Fangman worked with Terry Berkbuegler and Zach Heitzman of Brian Clark and Associates to identify space to fit an additional 15-20 parking spaces. The landscape architecture firm simplified the Main Street parking design by going to a single curb cut wide enough for both entrance and exit (versus three). They were able to layout oversized stalls (9 feet by 18 feet) and a 30 foot center isle that allows extra turning room for easier maneuverability. When completed, there will be a total of 22 parking spaces plus an additional 5 overflow spaces for heavier traffic days.

Display Lighting

Conklin Fangman contracted with Kathy Vandel of LightWorks Inc. to redesign the outdoor and indoor lighting for the vehicle display areas. The result will add over 40 outdoor poles and light fixtures for the new and used vehicle display lots as well as the new customer parking area. Kathy also relit the showroom to enhance indoor display and raise the overall quality of light for both customers and employees. The lighting redesign will improve the customer shopping experience for evening hours and weekends.

Used Vehicle Lot

In order to increase the Kansas City used car display lot, Conklin Fangman demolished the converted corner gas station that served as the used sales building. All sales activity will be accommodated on the remodeled showroom floor and sales offices. This part of the lot redesign will allow for over 100 used cars and trucks to be displayed. When you add the Conklin Fangman Certified Used Vehicle program (3 day buy back, 60 warranty, 3 year rental car, most priced at or below Kelly Blue Book), this location becomes not only a great place for local residents to buy a used vehicle, but a regional draw as well.

Landscaping

Conklin Fangman is committed to the community development plan that enhances the Main Street corridor shopping and residential environment. Conklin Fangman adopted Brain Clark and Associates landscape plan that developed design interest in all 4 seasons using plant color, texture, height, density and bloom. The result will be an outdoor plaza type feel that enhances the other work being done on Main Street between Crown Center and the Country Club Plaza.

Outdoor Display Plaza

In the area that was formerly customer parking will be transformed into a low density, high visibility display plaza. Improvements include redesigned lighting specific to this area, new paving material to replace the asphalt, and landscape elements with an increase concentration of blooming plant selections.

Fencing

Conklin Fangman is replacing old chain link fencing with new wrought iron fences and automatic gates. Not only does the new fencing look more attractive, but the automatic gating allows for easier movement of vehicles and customers not only for sales, but service, body shop and rentals. New fencing also replaces the metal railing that ran along Main Street with brick piers and capstones that match elements being included all along Main Street.

Showroom Remodel

As part of the overall new look and feel at Conklin Fangman Motor Company, Encompass Workplace Solutions designed a whole new showroom layout to best display their selection of Kansas City, Missouri Used Cars. Elements include wood, concrete, warmer colors, open work spaces for customers and salespeople to consult, showroom greeters to act as hosts/hostess for customers while they shop, and a complete new flooring design.

The overall project is being managed by Lytle Construction Inc. According to Mike Skeens, the project manager for Lytle, the project should be completed in late February except for the landscaping which will completed in early spring.
