Conshohocken, PA (PRWEB) January 31, 2008 -- Kopos-MedX International (KMI), the international staffing division of Kopos & Baker, Inc. offers to help Medical Technologists find a smooth Road to Green Cards. Medical Technologists benefit from assistance finding interested employers and support on what can be a complex application process.

Road to Green Cards

This is a win-win for everyone involved
Employers benefit through access to much needed Medical Technologists without having to learn and navigate the complex world of green card sponsorship. KMI will handle all the paperwork, the employer just needs to be willing to sponsor the Medical Technologist for the green card.

"KMI can help both prospective and current employers of H-1B visa holders avoid common headaches and pitfalls," says Jennifer Oullaf, director of international operations. "Employers will have the added benefit of keeping much needed skilled health care employees and earning significant loyalty from those they sponsor."

An H-1B visa is good for up to 6 years. In order to be eligible for a green card, Medical Technologists must work a minimum of 3 years for the same employer. They must have at least 3 years remaining on their H-1B visa in order to work for a new employer and be eligible for the KMI Road to Green Cards recruitment program. The Medical Technologist is responsible for all legal and immigration costs. The new employer will pay a flat placement fee to KMI for their new Medical Technologist.

KMI can also provide support to employers who wish to sponsor their current H-1B visa holders, but who are wary of the legalities and filing process. "This is a win-win for everyone involved," says Jennifer Santoleri, vice president of Kopos & Baker. "The Medical Technologists continue building on the life and career they've worked so hard to establish here. The employer keeps a skilled and valuable employee and doesn't need to deal with recruiting and training a replacement in an increasingly challenging hiring market."

The transfer or adjustment of status to green card must begin before H-1B holder starts their 6th year. A Labor Certification Form must be filed before the Medical Technologists start their 6th year. If the Labor Certification Form is filed before the start of the 6th year, the Medical Technologists can extend their H-1B annually beyond the 6 years. In some cases where visas are not available but green card adjustment is pending, then an application for Employment Authorization can be completed and the Medical Technologist can continue work while waiting for their green card approval.
