James W. Lintott Named Outstanding Fundraising Volunteer Of The Year

Chairman of the Children's Hospital Foundation Board recognized at National Capital Philanthropy Day Awards

Washington, DC (PRWEB / Vocus) November 20, 2008 -- James W. Lintott, chairman of the board of the Children's Hospital Foundation at Children's National Medical Center, was honored as "Outstanding Fundraising Volunteer" at the National Capital Philanthropy Day Awards presented by the Association of Fundraising Professionals' Washington DC Metro Area Chapter on Monday. More than 600 people attended the luncheon celebration, which was emceed by Leon Harris of WJLA/Channel 7 News.

Lintott is a longtime donor, volunteer, and friend to Children's National Medical Center. His personal support totals more than $500,000 since 2002. According to Lintott, "There is no institution that does more to help our region than Children's Hospital. As parents and members of this community, we are so thankful that Children's Hospital is there when we need them."

Pam King Sams, vice president of development at Children's National, said Lintott is deserving of this honor. "Jim has been such an instrumental part of our success here at Children's National. We are so fortunate to have him on our side. His enthusiasm is just contagious."

As founder of Sterling Foundation Management in Reston, Va., a leading provider of family office services for high-net worth individuals, Lintott also finds time to direct his family foundation with his wife. Other institutions that have benefited from the Lintotts' philanthropy include the Smithsonian Institution, Stanford University, the American Festival of the Arts, the Chehalis Foundation, and Best Buddies International.

Lintott is a graduate of W.F. West High School in Chehalis, Wa.
