Rational Young Woman Compelled to Accept the Supernatural in Exciting Mystery

Author Michelle Dixon tosses Catherine into a supernatural mystery, filled with rich historical and cultural details in her award-winning, debut novel "The Disappearance of Lilya Bekirova: A Novel of the Supernatural".

Sydney, Australia (PRWEB) February 4, 2008 -- Author Michelle Dixon tosses Catherine into a supernatural mystery, filled with rich historical and cultural details in her award-winning, debut novel "The Disappearance of Lilya Bekirova: A Novel of the Supernatural". Catherine is logical, rational and absolutely unbelieving in anything paranormal. But when Catherine's grandmother begins to tell her about the unsolved mystery of her childhood best friend's disappearance, Catherine feels a strange connection to the long-lost girl. (ISBN 9780595425495, iUniverse, 2007).

The greatest mystery of Catherine's grandmother's life is the unsolved disappearance of her childhood friend Lilya, who walked into the Uzbekistan desert one day and was never heard from again. Normally, Catherine resists any kind of supernatural speculation, but her mother's recent, unexpected death left her in a crumbling state of doubt, despair and self-reflection. So when Catherine mysteriously finds herself reliving Lilya's memories, she begins a supernatural and spiritual journey she never thought possible.

"The Disappearance of Lilya Bekirova" is a thrilling mystery, driven by the emotional and spiritual growth of its vivid characters. Catherine's grandmother Natasha and her friend Lilya grew up in the chaos of World War II-era Crimea, during Stalin's vicious banishment of the Crimean Tatars, an ethnic group from the former Soviet Union. Dixon captivates readers with the Crimean Tatars' plight, skillfully bringing this tragic era to life through fascinating detail and historical knowledge.

As memories of Lilya continue to flood Catherine, she undertakes a personal quest to understand her mystical connection to the lost girl. Catherine sheds her opposition to the supernatural, exploring both family history and the essence of her own spirit, but will it be enough to solve "The Disappearance of Lilya Bekirova"?
