Strater Records to Release Highly Anticipated 'Rachel Car Remixed'

Rachel Car, "The Electro Lady of Synthpop," has a hot new release in hand. DJ's get down, hip-shakers rejoice, and dance floors beware.

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) February 7, 2008 -- Rachel Car, "The Electro Lady of Synthpop," has a hot new release in hand. DJ's get down, hip-shakers rejoice, and dance floors beware.

Ms. Car has worked all by her lonesome up until this point -- composing, writing, mixing all of her work, but she thought it just might be fantastic to hear some other people's take on her stuff. Thus the remix project was born.

The Electro Lady of Synthpop
The album contains nine cuts, including favorites like "Tell Her" and "Different Choices." It took some time to find all the DJ's that would be included in the final album. In the end, six were chosen -- some contributing a second track. They each brought new light to the songs and hail from all different parts of the globe. Included are Royal Sapien (NYC), Craig C (San Francisco), Marlo (Amsterdam), Frankie Flowerz aka Mohan Das (Germany), DJ Playdoughboy (San Francisco) and GW2m (UK).

Royal Sapien had his Back Room Mix of "My Truth" reach No. 1 on Los Angeles based, world-renowned station KCRW's most requested songs. His remix of Funk Harmony Park's "Silence Me" has been featured on KROQ and again on KCRW by Jason Bentley. He currently has out "The San Francisco Love" project with proceeds to benefit the San Francisco Aids Foundation.

Another particularly notable DJ, Craig C, has been around the block recording and producing popular remixes, favorite bootlegs, and mashups for an array of artists including: Mariah Carey, Alicia Keys, Jody Watley, Musiq Soulchild, Scissor Sisters, Amanda LePore, Mary J. Blige, Le Tigre, The Killers, RuPaul and Ultra Nate'. As an engineer, Craig pioneered a distinct sound for the Pound Boys. Being a creative force, he also began co-writing songs with various musicians and vocalists (including Musiq Soulchild) and doing production arrangements. Craig found his niche in the creative process. After much success with the Pound Boys affiliation, remixing chart toppers such as: "Joi Cardwell - Pray" (First #1 on Billboard), Mary J. Blige (#1 on Billboard), Usher and Whitney Houston his reputation reached new heights.

Playdoughboy, originally from the Ukraine, is a very active live DJ/remixer throughout the west coast. He gets a huge response from the crowd anytime he spins either of his cuts "Tell Her" and "I Know You Want Me." Both tracks are sqwelchy, bass-riden examples of electro with a powerful vocal mix. As a DJ, Playdoughboy became a member of the Union Project, a techno promo group in Kharkov that later on changed their name to MEGATEQ. After moving to California in 2000, Playdoughboy continued a collaboration with Asylum Group, as well as starting up a solo project, integrating some hardware pieces into the software based studio, concentrating on dirty electro house and minimal techno sound. Early this year, Playdoughboy launched the Electro Connect net-label.

Dutch/Australian producer and DJ, Marlo Hoogstraten, has played the biggest stages Australia has to offer. Alongside talents as diverse as DJ Tiesto, Armin van Buuren and Marco V (to name just a few) he earned his antipodean stripes before making the move back to Amsterdam to hone his talents even further. Now, after four months with his nose to the grindstone and a swag of banging new releases as both Liquid M ("The Train" peaking at No. 1 on vinylwarning.com.au charts, and reaching top 10 charts around the world) on Germany's Media Records, and as Marlo on USA's Tweek'd Records (released before the end of the year) and UK's Pioneer records he's ready to break cover and step up to the decks again.

This August he'll be representing his adopted homeland and his roots at one of the biggest parties in the Netherlands as Cirque du Soleil's official DJ choice. The massive "Uitmarkt" event attracts around 500,000 people over the course of two days, and Marlo will be playing the closing set on main stage.

Mohan Das has called Berlin home for the last nine years. His version of Tell Her is one of only two downtempo tracks on the release. According to Mohan, minimal continues to be the most popular genre of dance music in Germany. We were told to expect an equally broad spectrum of sounds in Mohan's upcoming album to be released next year under his own name. Mohan has produced under various monikers -- including Frankie Flowerz and Audio Royal -- and has remixed for artistes such as Adamsky and Kiki.

GW2m put together a version of "Different Choices" that feels less like a remix and more like a possible alternate version of the song. It's quite 80's and quite entertaining. More info on all of these artists is available at the following sites.

Ms. Car much enjoyed this collaboration and is currently at work on her next full length album is due out by summer. To hear samples and purchase Rachel Car Remixed, as well as the original debut and Behave EP, go to http://www.rachelcar.com or iTunes.
