GOLF CHANNEL HD Is Cablevision's HD Channel Of The Day, As Part Of The Company's Continuing "45 Days in HD, on iO TV(SM)" Countdown

Ongoing salute to excellence in HD programming recognizes each of the 45 high-definition services iO TV customers receive at no additional cost.

Bethpage, NY (PRWEB) February 7, 2008 -- Cablevision Systems Corp. today is recognizing GOLF CHANNEL HD as its HD Channel of the Day, as part of the ongoing "45 Days in HD, on iO TV" countdown. Available to Cablevision's iO TV customers on channel 719, GOLF CHANNEL HD features a programming schedule that includes more live golf coverage than all other networks combined, as well as news, instruction and original productions, such as the popular Big Break. GOLF CHANNEL became the exclusive cable home of the PGA TOUR in 2007, and televises part or all of every PGA TOUR event. In addition, the network is exclusive television home of the Nationwide Tour, European Tour and Canadian Tour, and the exclusive cable home of the Champions Tour. Also featured is a generous mix of other competition from the LPGA Tour, USGA, PGA of America, Asian Tour, PGA Tour of Australasia and Sunshine Tour of Southern Africa.

During the countdown, Cablevision is recognizing each of the 45 high-definition services iO customers receive at no additional cost, including all nine local professional sports teams in HD. Unlike its satellite and phone company competitors, Cablevision does not impose additional fees and charges on customers who want to "see" in HD.

Featured GOLF CHANNEL HD Programming On February 7, 2008 Includes:

2008 EMAAR-MGF Indian Masters (9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. ET, TD)

A new event on the European Tour for 2008, the EMAAR-MGF Indian Masters will be headlined by some of the world's top international players, including World No. 5 Ernie Els, who recently committed to the event. Taking place at Delhi Golf Club in India, viewers will be to catch the final half hour of the opening round in HD from 12 - 12:30 p.m. ET

The Turn (2:30 - 3 p.m. ET)

The Turn, GOLF CHANNEL's fast-paced weekly instructional show, will include the turning points from the FBR Open and will feature an array of tips from noted instructors, including David Leadbetter, golf fitness instructor Katherine Roberts, Golf for Women Magazine senior editor Stina Sternberg and PGA TOUR professionals.

2008 AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro Am (3 - 6 p.m. ET [Live, 8:30 - 11:30 p.m. [Replay)

A star-studded field of celebrities will team with PGA TOUR professionals in the opening round of the 2008 AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am, airing live from 3-6 p.m. ET. Taking place on Pebble Beach, Spyglass Hill and Poppy Hills golf courses on the Monterrey Peninsula in California, Kevin Costner, Carson Daly, Chris O'Donnell, Glenn Frey, Craig T. Nelson, Huey Lewis, Kelly Slater and Chris Berman are among the early commitments for the Pro-Am. World No. 2 Phil Mickelson will attempt to defend his 2007 championship over an expected strong international field.

Sprint Post Game (6 - 6:30 p.m. ET [Live)

GOLF CHANNEL analysts will break down all of the action from the opening round of the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am on Sprint Post Game (6 p.m. ET) with highlights, interviews and expert insider analysis that viewers won't see anywhere else.

Personal Lessons: Raymond Floyd, part one (6:30 - 7 p.m.)

In the first episode of a three-part personal lessons series, Raymond Floyd will ride along with two amateur golfers for a round of golf, providing tips and insight on how to improve their golf games. Viewers will listen in as Floyd uses his extensive knowledge of golf to challenge the amateurs to use visualization to bring about better golf shots.

- Personal Lessons: Raymond Floyd, part two (7 - 7:30 p.m.)

In the second episode of the three-part personal lessons series, Floyd will work with a 19-handicapper to improve his negative attitude and mentality on the golf course that leads to poor execution. Floyd also will work with a single-digit handicapper who is looking to improve consistency in his golf game.

- Personal Lessons: Raymond Floyd, part three (7:30 - 8 p.m.)

In the third, and final, personal lesson from Raymond Floyd, he will assist two amateur golfers with gaining distance, course management and key putting tips to help lower their handicaps and scores.

Trevino and Lopez (8 - 8:30 p.m.)

GOLF CHANNEL will air Trevino and Lopez, a special encore presentation featuring actor/comedian George Lopez and Hall-of-Famer Lee Trevino delving into the special bond they share through the game of golf and through life experiences in growing up without a father figure. The hour-long special will share the trials they faced before achieving success in their individual endeavors, and how the game of golf transformed their lives.

PGA TOUR Primetime: 2008 AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am (8:30 - 11:30 p.m.)

PGA TOUR Primetime will re-air the opening round of the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am at 8:30 p.m. ET with exclusive bonus coverage including interviews, tournament action and highlights.

The Grey Goose 19th Hole (11:30 p.m. - 12 a.m.)
