The Psychiatry and Neurology Interest Group at Albany Medical College Develops New Organization Website

PNIG Website is created by Adam Grogin in 2008.

Albany, New York (PRWEB) February 10, 2008 -- The Psychiatry and Neurology Interest Group (PNIG) at Albany Medical College (AMC) is a collection of dedicated medical and graduate students who are interested in learning more about the brain. The organization was created by Misty Richards, a third year PhD/MD student at Albany Medical College in 2006. Her main motivation for PNIG was to create a forum where students interested in the neurosciences could share ideas, opportunities, and experiences with one another. In addition, it would inspire students to learn more about psychiatry and neurology in order to facilitate matriculation into related residency programs.

Misty teamed up with Sam Saha, also a third year medical student at AMC, whose ideas, motivation, and passion for both psychiatry and neurology have taken this student-run organization to the next level. Sam has been an integral part of the PNIG leadership and has established the Student Interest Group in Neurology (SIGN) at AMC. SIGN has become one of the main components of PNIG, giving students access to neurology resources, opportunities, and an extensive student network. A second year medical student, Erika Stageberg, is the PNIG coordinator.

The PNIG website was developed by Adam Grogin, who has been creating websites since 1997. Adam is a graphic designer based in Colonie, New York, as well as a computer support specialist at Albany Medical College. Adam owns the Pil-Sung Martial Arts Academy (www.Pil-SungMartialArts.com) and has been training for 21 years. Adam is a Master, which means that he is ranked as a 4th degree black belt. The rank of Master takes approximately 10-15 years to accomplish. Adam is ranked through the World Tae Kwon Do Federation, the largest governing body of Tae Kwon Do, out of South Korea. He is also running the Second Annual North East Open Tournament for martial arts (www.NorthEastOpen.com).
