Author's Debut Novel Takes Creative Look at Cosmic Struggle

Author Clair Verway's debut novel, Wings of Mentridar, studies the eternal fight between the forces of good and evil

Longwood, FL (PRWEB) February 13, 2008 -- Imagine how busy the host of heaven must have been when God chose a simple man to build an escape vehicle for the salvation of the human race. Author Clair Verway's debut novel, Wings of Mentridar (paperback, 978-1-60477-337-8), follows both human and angel stories as they intertwine in this cosmic struggle.

The search for and protection of wives for the chosen one's sons provide drama and adventure, while the race to get the ark done and get everyone aboard before the rain begins brings a compelling sense of urgency. Written in the tradition of Frank Peretti and other authors who have attempted to draw back the curtain on the eternal struggle between the Creator and His sworn enemies, Wings of Mentridar is a timely new entry in the genre that takes an imaginative look into the incredible cosmic struggle which goes on constantly between the forces of good and evil.

Says Verway, "Readers will come away with a down to earth sense of what Noah must have gone through, plus an inkling of what must have gone on in the heavenly realm. I think this kind of understanding makes the Bible more real, more human, more believable."

A true Renaissance man, Verway holds multiple college degrees in a variety of fields, but these only represent the tip of the learning iceberg which has been his life. He is well read in philosophy, theology, history, and sociology, and he has drawn heavily on his teachings for this book. "In this book I have considered everything from near lightspeed travel to cultural anthropology to the doctrine of creation," the author says. "I have tried to remain true to what the Bible does say about Noah and [the angels while allowing my imagination to develop what else we might learn about things if we had more insight."

Xulon Press, a part of Salem Communications Corporation, is the world's largest Christian publisher, with more than 4,000 titles published to date. Retailers may order Wings of Mentridar through Ingram Book Company and/or Spring Arbor Book Distributors.
