Key Presentation Ceremony: Homes for Our Troops Announces Completion of 4th Specially Adapted North Carolina Home

SSG Lee Tom Jones, a Severely Injured Iraq Veteran to be presented with Keys to his New Home. Homes for Our Troops, Senior Project Manager, Paul Gemme, will hold a press conference at 2611 Odum Road (Oak Grove Subdivision), Lumberton, NC on February 18, 2008 at 11:00 AM to announce the completion of this project

Lumberton, NC (PRWEB) February 13, 2008 -- Homes For Our Troops, a Massachusetts based 501 (c)(3) organization that provides specially adapted homes for our most severely injured veterans has announced the completion of a new home for SSG Lee Tom Jones.

On October 3, 2005 SSG Lee Tom Jones was on patrol with the 82nd Airborne 504 when the Humvee that he was riding in hit an IED. The blast caused the Humvee to flip over and catch on fire. Even though Lee was on fire when he ran out of the Humvee he demanded to know the fate of the 3 men he was riding with. Lee has sustained severe burns to over 45% of his body, 3 strokes, Traumatic Brian Injury, and has no feeling in his feet - which makes it difficult for him to walk. He is only able to go very short distances with a walking belt and assistance.

Work on Lee's was completed in conjunction with MetCon Construction, Inc., a multidiscipline general contracting firm, based in Pembroke, NC. Metcon is organized to assist clients in managing the construction process from initial budget, the design and construction, to successful project closeout. www.metconconstruction.com
Lee's home is the 4th specially adapted home project that Homes for Our Troops has completed in North Carolina, including barrier-free homes in Fayetteville, New Bern and Roxboro and work on the Waxhaw project is well underway. Homes for Our Troops has completed 22 additional homes throughout the US and currently has 20 underway.
