FaithWriters.com, the Premier Site for Christian Writers, has Released its Eleventh Anthology, "FaithWriters-Hidden in the Hymns"

Combining the great hymns of the Christian faith with the timeless themes sung for generations has borne unique fruit in a new FaithWriters book entitled "Hidden in the Hymns" (www.FaithWriters.com).

Livonia, MI (PRWEB) February 18, 2008 -- What happens when you take several well-loved themes of hymnody and give hundreds of writers the opportunity to craft stories about those themes? What happens when those writers have no idea how the individual themes connect? In both cases you get an amazing new book called "Faithwriters-Hidden in the Hymns".

FaithWriters recently debuted the eleventh book in the FaithWriter book series. The process of content selection is unique in that the writers who participate in ten weekly challenges have no idea what the overall theme of the book is, so they write based on a single word prompt as opposed to the idea of writing to a singular theme.

Australian native, Deborah Porter, has coordinated each of these challenges along with providing publishing oversight. She maintains an eye for design and layout. Her expert guidance was felt keenly in all aspects of "FaithWriters-Hidden in the Hymns".

For many the challenge is something like a ten-week boot camp or sports season. There is preparation, execution and always another challenge next week. The pace can be daunting and sometimes the authors sit on the bench for the week, but the challenge remains a favorite of many who seem to gain unparalleled skills the longer they participate along with those who make it a habit to read the weekly entries. Up to 200 submissions can be accepted in any given challenge, but only 10 of those submissions were represented in "FaithWriters-Hidden in the Hymns". Themes for this project include soul, vision, cross and garden. This challenge may have been more difficult than many previous challenges, but the results are impressive.

FaithWriters--Hidden in the Hymns (ISBN: 1414110693, Pleasant Word, 2007, $19.99) is a collection of 80 award winning inspirational, encouraging, and entertaining messages by over 50 of the very best Christian authors from the FaithWriters.com Writing Challenge--including both long established FW alumni as well as creative new talent.

Joanne Sher has found a niche for her writing at FaithWriters. Reflecting on her placement in the latest volume she said, "I'd been on the edge of my seat for months, waiting for this anthology to come out. I had just started at Faithwriters when I placed with this piece, so I couldn't wait to get my hands on it. This is my first piece of Christian fiction ever published, so it was just amazing to look at the book and see my name in it, alongside some of my very favorite - and in my opinion some of the best - up and coming Christian writers."

Amy Michelle Wiley is another regular contestant who eloquently summed up her experience in this challenge; "All the important truths in the world boil down to the fact that God ultimately loves us as individuals. No matter how insignificant we may seem, to Him we are worth everything. Using my favorite genres, historical and ethnic fiction, my stories capture that thought in a way that, I hope, brings it alive in the hearts of the readers. This book is filled with beautiful articles, and it is a joy and privilege to be a part of something I know God will use to touch others."

This volume joins ten previous collections with additional volumes scheduled for completion this year.
