Even though last year was a particularly difficult one for many online poker web sites with the passing of the UIGEA bill and questions raised about the integrity of certain leading operators there was still fierce competition for this award.

The one category that no one wanted to win was the raspberry for Worst Online Poker Room of the Year. This one was apparently a shoe-in following the internal cheating scandal that rocked Absolute Poker late in 2007. "The resilience shown by online poker players in general and Absolute in particular has to be admired, but there remains little doubt that no poker room endured a worse year than these guys," said Marc W.
